Variety is reporting that Jason M. Burns' The Expendable One comic has been optioned by Intrepid Pictures, a company that is financing and producing three to five horror, comedy or thriller pictures aimed at the 12-29 year-old demographic.  Intrepid has signed writers Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles (Twitch, Drive-Thru) to write the screenplay for The Expendable One.

Last week Viper Comics published the 112-page The Expendable One graphic novel ($11.95), a sardonic tale about an average guy who accidentally imbibes a potion that will allow him to recover from any wound and then decides to use his regenerative superpower for good, only to find that it's harder than you think to be a superhero.

Jason Burns, who is the Managing Editor of Viper Comics, is also about to try his hand at movie directing by helming an independent film, Diary of a Jealous Man, from his own original screenplay.
