Mark Amoroso of Blackthorn Game Center in Dickson, Tennessee saw a recent ad for a Tokyopop manga, and doesn't like the competition from the company's online store:

I have to tell you, I'm always amazed by stuff like this.  I just received the new copy of the Tokyopop Manga Magazine.  In it is an ad for the manga Rure.  The bottom left corner of the ad features the word 'exclusive!' and a comic shop locator logo.  I would guess that this means this title is exclusive to comic shops.  However, in the bottom right hand corner is a note that you can get 25% off this title if you purchase it from the online Tokyopop shop.

Huh?

As a consumer, why would I make the effort to visit the Comic Shop locator, look up a comic shop near me, drive all the way to the comic shop, spend money on gas and pay sales tax?  Tokyopop has graciously offered to me the opportunity to buy it directly from them for 25% off. There goes that comic shop exclusive 'incentive' out the window.
