Udon Entertainment announced it has teamed up with Korean publisher Haksan to launch a manhwa line this fall in North America. At the end of 2006, Udon ended its relationship with the Korean publishing consortium ICE Kunion (see 'Interview with ICE Kunion, Part 3') and will publish titles through its own licensing arrangements going forward.  Haksan has licensed titles to ICE Kunion, Dark Horse, and Tokyopop in the past.

The first Udon manhwa series begins in October.  Star Project Chiro Vol. 1 is a romantic comedy about a girl caught up in the world of a pop stardom.

In November, Udon will launch Dorothy of Oz Vol. 1, a new version of the classic story. And in December, it will release Magical JxR Vol. 1, which follows the two teenage wizardry students and their non-magical female friend.
