Marvel Entertainment has announced the appointment of Alan Fine, who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Marvel's publishing and toy divisions, to the newly created position of Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Marvel Characters, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment.  In his new position Mr. Fine will be responsible for directing Marvel's efforts to support and strengthen its brands.

Mr. Fine will retain his position as CEO for Marvel's publishing and toy divisions and will continue to oversee those categories for Marvel.  Mr. Fine became CEO of the toy division in 1998 and took over the top job in publishing in 2004.
