Fox Atomic has assigned J.T. Petty to write and direct a film based on the Japanese novel Goth, according to Variety.  The novel (by Otsuichi) was adapted into a manga by Kendi Oiwa (Welcome to the NHK), published as a single volume in 2003 by Kadokawa.  Kadokawa will be an executive producer on the film. 

Petty has primarily worked in videogames in the past; he's credited as the writer for the Batman Begins videogame.
