Bandai Visual will release SOS! Tokyo Metro Explorers: The Next, based on Katsuhiro Otomo's SOS! Big Tokyo Metro Explorers manga (from Kodansha), on December 11th.  The feature will be released in both Bluray ($64.99) and regular ($54.99) editions.

The 2006 anime feature is directed by Shinji Takagi (animation director for Otomo's Steamboy, see 'Steamboy DVD Debuts at #23'), and utilizes and improves upon digital technology developed for the Otomo feature.  Bandai Visual says that the new techniques allow 'natural human expressions of the characters as never before possible in 3D CGI,' preserving the Japanese handdrawn look.
