FUNimation Entertainment has revealed that its first DVD of the Gonzo-produced Witchblade anime series sold more copies during its first week of release than any other anime released in the U.S. in 2007.  The data comes from the Nielsen VideoScan survey for the week of September 25th during which the first Witchblade anime DVD debuted.

The second DVD volume in the Witchblade series goes on sale on November 6th.  Like the first volume, it features a stunning cover created by a Top Cow artist -- Top Cow published the first Witchblade comics, which inspired the popular live action TV series as well as a very Japanese adaptation by Gonzo (see 'Gonzo Witchblade Anime Set').
