The reason for deliveries on Friday is easy...UPS won't pick up until Wednesday the week of Christmas. Monday is an 'air only' day and Tuesday is the actual holiday itself. UPS hasn't changed their policy -- it's been like that for as long as I can remember. I already knew that I wouldn't get comics until Friday when I saw how the holidays fell.
We complain all the time when customers don't seem to understand that we have certain business constraints (like, 'how come I can't pick up the phone and order more of some comic that came out eight years ago?'). Perhaps we should be a little more intuitive on how others run THEIR businesses.
