WizKids has added the Johnny Thunder figure that was previously available only at DC HeroClix events at GenCon 2007 to the lineup of convention specials that will be available to retailers participating in WizKids' 'Convention Weekend' promotion on Feburary 1st, 2008 (see 'WizKids Announces February Convention Weekend').  WizKids has also lowered the buy-in cost for retailers wishing to participate in the 'Convention Weekend' promotion.  Retailers who purchase $299 wholesale worth of 2007 WizKids products between January 1st and January 23rd, 2008 will receive a free 2008 WizKids Convention Weekend Kit.

In addition to the newly announced DC HeroClix Johnny Thunder figure, the 2008 WizKids Convention Weekend Kit contains additional hard-to-find WizKids giveaways including Mighty Thor, Batman, Vlad the Impaler, and the colossal Fin Fang Foom figure.  WizKids EVP of Sales, Marketing and Product Development Joe Hauck explained: 'We wanted to add the highly-requested Johnny Thunder, and we decided to lower the buy-in cost so that all WizKids fans have a store near them where they can get the figures they've been wanting.'
