Entertainment Weekly gave the new Persepolis feature some major ink in its January 18th (cover date) issue.  In a full-page feature, the magazine labels it an 'EW Pick,' and delivers an 'A' review, a tough grade to get from EW.  Noting the film's 'multigenerational accessibility,' reviewer Lisa Schwarzbaum describes its simplicity as its strength.  'Cool young girls will love this,' the reviewer wrote, 'as will grown-ups wise enough to absorb the truth of the wise women's movement slogan, 'The personal is political.'

Persepolis is yet to go into wide release; it was still only in 18 theaters last weekend, up 11 from the week before, according to Box Office Mojo.  But its #2 per-screen average portends a significant box office presence when it is finally in enough theaters to satisfy demand.  All of which is great for sales of the graphic novels on which it's based.
