In another in the growing trend of Webcomics book packages, Kazu Kibuishi's Copper has been sold to Scholastic.  Copper has been serialized on the Web since April of 2002.

The Copper collection, planned for Spring 2010, will include both existing and new material.  It will be released in both trade paperback and library hardcover editions.  Judith Hansen of Hansen Literary Agency represented Kibuishi.

Scholastic also publishes Kazu's Amulet series, recently picked up for a movie (see "Smiths in Amulet").    Kazu is perhaps best known as the editor of the Flight anthologies, published by Villard, and the mid-grade Flight Explorer anthology, just launched.  Two Copper stories, "Maiden Voyage" and "Picnic," were included in the first Flight volume.
