At the New York Comic Con Digital Manga announced that it was publishing manga and anime pioneer Osamu Tezuka’s Swallowing the Earth.  Originally published in Japan in 1969, Swallowing the Earth is an adult-oriented tale about a number of identical beauties, who wreak revenge on men around the world for the sexual sins of the male gender.

 

Digital Manga plans to publish Swallowing the Earth in a single 500+ page hardcover volume, which will be released in the deluxe DMP Platinum format just like DMP’s snazzy Speed Racer collection, which is in stores now.  Digital Manga’s Rachel Livingston told ICv2 that  Swallowing the Earth will be released in the spring of 2009 and will likely retail for $24.95.

 

DMP also announced a number of new yaoi manga that it will release under June and 801 imprints including the one-volume White Brand from the “Queen of Yaoi,” Youka Nitta; Ze from Yuki Shimizu; and Koi wa Aserazu by Mio Tennohji.
