Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters, & Marvels, a direct-to-DVD (and VHS) release featuring film director/actor/comic scribe Kevin Smith talking to Lee about his amazing career, is set for release May 14, timed to take advantage of Spider-Man movie hype.

There are two separate features on the disk.  In 'Creating Spider-Man,' Lee answers Smith's questions about his best-known character, including a discussion of the creator-credit controversy between Lee and Steve Ditko.  And in 'Here Come the Heroes,' Lee talks with Smith about his long career in the comics business.  DVD MSRP is $24.95.

The DVD was produced by Creative Light Entertainment, which has produced a similar straight-to-DVD  conversation between Star Trek stars William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, and DVD collections of Your Show of Shows.

Bonus DVD material includes widescreen presentation, a behind-the-scenes featurette, a bonus interview with Stan Lee's wife Joan, and a story on the never-released Fantastic Four movie.
