DC Comics is offering retailers a chance to order a facsimile edition of Watchmen #1, the first issue in the groundbreaking 12-issue mini-series that had an immediate impact on the world of comics when it first shipped in September of 1986.  The historic issue will be offered at its original cover price of $1.50 and will ship to retail on December 3rd.  The Watchmen movie, which has inspired sales of the Watchmen trade paperback to the point that it was the number one “dollar book” sold through Diamond Comic Distributors in August (see “Watchmen Top Dollar Book in August”), is slated to open on March 6th.

DC is also offering retailers a 12-copy Watchmen trade paperback floor display that stands five feet high and measures one foot across.  The floor display is free for retailers who order the 12 copies of Watchmen at their normal DC discount.
