Time Magazine will publish a full article complete with interview on Ted Rall's latest 'instant' graphic novel, To Afghanistan And Back (see 'To Afghanistan And Back').  Rall, a cartoonist whose work appears regularly in the Village Voice, is no stranger to controversy, and his unblinking look at the war in Afghanistan is sure to raise some eyebrows and make more than a few sunshine patriots hot under the collar.  Among Rall's contentions that go against the grain of standard media coverage of the events in Afghanistan are his questioning of whether or not 'we've actually won the war,' and what ulterior motives (think big oil) might be behind some of this country's actions.

Time Magazine's article on Rall should appear near the end of May, while other publications including Gear, The Kansas City Star, The Progressive, and both the Scripps-Howard and Knight-Ridder chains will be covering the release of Rall's graphic novel account of his trip to Afghanistan.  Rall's publisher NBM has hired a major publicity agency in a move that should maximize the controversial artist's appearances on radio and TV talk shows.
