Alan Elliott of Queen City Bookstore in Buffalo, New York finds the full-page tribute to Michael Turner in Astonishing X-Men #26 an “...attempt to coerce retailers to order more...:”

In Astonishing X-Men #26, there is a full-page tribute to Michael Turner.  Along with a photo of him is the following quote:

“He wasn’t bitten by a radioactive spider.  Or struck by gamma rays.  Or injected with the Super-Soldier serum.  But he cared about everyone the way only a hero can.  And he was the greatest pal you could ever hope for.

His name is Michael Turner.  The world is less special without him.  We miss you and love you. 1971 – 2008”

How gruesome is it that the real way Marvel Comics is honoring his memory is by dangling his work as variant covers in a cheap attempt to coerce retailers to order more issues of Hulk #7 than they did for Hulk #1?
