STRANGEco has announced that it will release the King Ken Mini Series, a new series of 4” designer toys by British designer James Jarvis, on November 22nd.  The figures will be produced under license from Amos Novelties, Jarvis’ company.

Amos first released King Ken in 2003 as a limited edition 12” vinyl figure, followed by a series of color variants.  The character also appeared in Vortigern’s Machine and the Great Sage of Wisdom, a graphic novel by Jarvis and Amos co-founder Russel Waterman.

The series of five color variations, two from the original series and three new colors, plus a special chase figure, will be packaged in blind boxes.  The ratios are:

Gray 1:4

Orange 1:4

Purple 1:6

Blue 1:6

Green 1:8

Chase Figure 1:24

The first figure from Jarvis, one of the pioneers of the designer toy movement, was a Martin vinyl figure for UK street fashion brand Silas & Maria in 1998, an eternity ago in the designer toy movement.  STRANGEco has been collaborating with Amos since 2003, but this will be the first time it will be producing toys under license, rather than distributing Amos’ toys.
