A glance at this week's Lycos Top 50 list of searches provides even more evidence of the power of the Spider-Man movie. Spidey, who has been on the list for just 3 weeks, vaulted to the #1 position past Dragonball and even past the seasonally potent Mother's Day. Star Wars was in the number four slot this week, so it should be interesting to see if Attack of the Clones will catch the webslinger sometime in the near future.
Aaron Schatz who compiles and analyzes the Lycos Top 50 prepared a list of the top 20 comic characters, based on how many searches each character generated during the week ending May 11. Note how many of these characters have movie (Blade, Men in Black, The Crow) and TV connections (Witchblade, Justice League, TMNT).
