Keith Mallow of Collector's Comics in Port St. Lucie, Florida writes in to relate how his Free Comic Book Day turned out:
Free Comic Book Day at collector's comics, was the best FCBD ever! We had comic legend John Beatty (Secret Wars, Captain America, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Punisher and much more) drawing sketches for the customers--for free!!
John and Keith Mallow (owner of Collector's Comics) have been friends for over 25 years and John came down to the store to help promote the event. He was supposed to stay from 11:00am - 5:00pm, but he stayed until 8:30 pm so he wouldn't disappoint his legion of fans!! Everyone got a sketch!
We had a storewide sale, gave away hundreds of fcbd comics, played trivia for prizes, had many people show up in costume and had an incredible time!!
We are looking forward to next year!!
