With Hollywood adapting so many comic books, turnabout is certainly fair play.  Starting in August, Boom! Studios is publishing a comic book series based on the popular Die Hard movie property, which encompasses four films that have collectively earned more than a billion dollars at the box office worldwide.  Boom! Studios’ Die Hard Year One will go back in time to 1976 to explore John McClane’s rookie year as a New York City cop during America’s Bicentennial celebration.  Comic veteran Howard Chaykin (American Flagg) is writing the first comic featuring America’s top action hero, while Stephen Thompson is providing the art.

Die Hard is the latest addition to Boom! Studios’ burgeoning roster of licensed titles that also includes Farscape, 28 Days Later, The Muppets, and a raft of Disney/Pixar kid-oriented titles such as The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Cars, and Toy Story.
