The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and Reed Exhibitions, the organizers of C2E2, are jointly producing a high profile panel on comics and graphic novel censorship at the American Library Association Annual Conference and a brewery party.

The panel, “Ban those @#$%! Comic Books, Graphic Novels, and Censorship,” brings together comic creators Neil Gaiman, Terry Moore, Craig Thompson, and Jill Thompson, who discuss the origins of comics censorship, how their works have been affected, and what it’s like to be in the center of a censorship controversy.  The panel is co-sponsored by the Association of American Publishers and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, with Craig Thompson's travel sponsored by C2E2.  It’s at 1:30 on Monday, July 13th in McCormick Convention Center, W-184.

The brewery party will be held at the Piece Brewery from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 13th, and is open to all ALA attendees and all librarians who will be in Chicago during the Conference.

C2E2 is the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, the new show launching at McCormick Place next April.
