A comic story using images from Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis graphic novels with new text by “Payman & Sina” is making the rounds on the Web, telling the story of the post-election protests in Iran.  Titled Persepolis 2.0, the ten-page story carries a disclaimer indicating that while the story is inspired by the work of Satrapi, that “does not imply, however, that the views expressed here reflect her own.” 

The story, headed “Iran's Post-Election Uprising: Hopes & Fears Revealed,” covers the period from June 12th to June 21st. 

The story sympathizes with the protesters, with the final panel focusing on the death of Neda Agha-Soltan, the young woman whose death was captured on a cell-phone video that electrified protestors around the world.  “Don’t cry Neda.  Your death will not be in vain,” a character in the panel says.
