Rebecca Jane Blea and Miryam Ramos, co-owners of The Comic Shop in San Leandro, California read the recent article about the GAMA Trade Show dates overlapping those of ComicsPro Annual Membership Meeting (see "GTS vs. ComicsPro Dates") and had this to say:
For those retailers that are feeling consternation about GAMA vs. ComicsPro. Guess what? IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT.
Game retailers have been yelling long and loud at the GAMA board about the old April dates, so the board listened to that squeaky wheel. Now they are cranky that they have to travel twice in one month, in some cases crisscrossing the country. Had they just left well enough alone they would have two events in two different months, so they have no one else to blame but themselves. All they have really done is totally upset smaller retailers who planned accordingly based on the April dates and are now left with the additional expense of having to change hotel and plane reservations.
From the bottom of my cash drawer, THANKS.
