The first book in Hitoshi Ariga’s original 3-volume manga series featuring Capcom’s iconic Mega Man video game character will debut from Udon Entertainment early next year.  Mega Man Megamix Vol. 1 ($12.95) is slated for release on January 27th with Volumes 2 & 3 due in April and July respectively.  In addition to the manga each volume will also include character profiles, gag strips, and creator interviews. 

 

Mega Man, known as Rockman in Japan, has been featured in more than 100 different Capcom games.  Created by Akira Kitamura and Keiji Inafune, the Blue Bomber first appeared in video games in 1987.  His success in that format spawned the popular MegaMan NT Warrior anime series (Rockman .EXE in Japan), a 209-episode behemoth that from 2002-2006 in Japan, and aired on The Kids’ WB Saturday morning block and the Cartoon Network’s Toonami here in the U.S.

 

The Mega Man Megamix manga volumes feature all the franchise regulars like Proto Man, Dr. Wily, Dr. Light, Bass & Treble, Rush, Roll, and tons of villainous Robot Masters.
