Funimation Entertainment has inked a distribution agreement with the California-based Cybergraphix Animation to distribute the animated film Guardians of Luna.  Guardians of Luna is an action anime feature currently in development with writer Michael Reaves (Batman: The Animated Feature, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as story editor and Cindy Yamauchi (Naruto: The Movie, Black Lagoon) as character designer.

APPP Co. Ltd. (Robot Carnival, Fist of the North Star) will animate the film, and is expected to begin work on it in 2010.  A Guardians of Luna manga series is also in development.  The story takes place in a near-future city and features four descendants of an ancient race of werewolf-like shapeshifters who have to protect their ancestral power source from the designs of a ruthless mogul.

According to The Guardians of Luna Website, the film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray
