Scarlet Fire Entertainment, the company behind the TV series, New Amsterdam and The Beast, has optioned Dare Comics’ The Hunter for the big screen.  Adam Hamdy, who created The Hunter in 2007, will write a new saga featuring the contemporary superhero for the film. Hamdy will also produce the film along with Scarlet Fire's Adam Loeb, who wrote the film, The Things We Lost in the Fire, and co-wrote the movies 21 and Wall St. 2: Money Never Sleeps.

 

Hamdy, who founded Dare Comics, which utilizes both online and print distribution, has a new science fiction comic book series Starmaker: Leviathan due out from Dare Comics this month.  The hero of Hamdy's The Hunter is CIA agent Gabriel Mot, who has extraordinary powers and utilizes them all as he investigates a string of terrorist attacks on the U.S.
