Paramount Pictures has staked out an opening weekend for the sequel to J.J. Abrams’ highly successful reboot of the Star Trek film franchise.  The as-yet-untitled Star Trek sequel will debut on June 29th, 2012.

Abrams’ Star Trek, which was released last May, earned over $257 million at the domestic box office.  Abrams is producing the Trek sequel, which Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof, are writing.  Abrams has not announced whether or not he will direct the film.
