Wizkid's Marvel HeroClix game has been one of the major hits of the summer of 2002 in pop culture stores across the country.  The collectible miniatures game has been at the top of Diamond's list of reordered products for much of the summer.  At this year's San Diego Comic-Con International, Wizkids announced that in addition to the already announced DC HeroClix, scheduled to ship on September 18, it is preparing an additional HeroClix entry that will include characters from other comic publishers.  Dubbed the Indy HeroClix, this group of collectible miniatures that is due out sometime late next summer, will include characters from CrossGen, Dark Horse, Top Cow, Chaos, and 2000 AD (Judge Dredd), as well as creator-owned properties like J. Scott Campbell's Danger Girl, Billy Tucci's Shi, and David Mack's Kabuki.

The announcement of the Indy HeroClix game was greeted with cheers at the packed gaming room at San Diego, where the Marvel HeroClix game was very much in evidence, and fans are eagerly awaiting DC HeroClix as well as WizKid's new science fiction CMG, Mechwarrior, which is due out on August 21.  WizKid's Martin Stever told ICv2 that the roster of companies for the first series of Indy HeroClix  (see above) is complete, but if the first series is a success, additional publishers may be added as the line expands.
