Marvel is well into another Heroic Age “slow reveal.”  Having already unveiled the members of the Heroic Age Avengers team that will debut in May in the Avengers #1 comic by Brian Michael Bendis and John Romita, Jr. (see “Thor Is an Avenger”), and then having teased the comic world by keeping the identities of the Ed Brubaker and Mike Deodato’s Secret Avengers under wraps, Marvel has spent this past week announcing the members of the revamped New Avengers.  The New Avengers, which will be written by Bendis and Stuart Immonen, will debut on June 1st and will be the third Heroic Age Avengers title.

So far Marvel has revealed four members of the New Avengers, the most recent of which is Jewel, who as Jessica Jones starred in Bendis’ critically-acclaimed MAX comic Alias from 2001-2004.  The busty superheroine who “Strives to Better Herself” should fit right in with a team that so far includes her husband Luke Cage (“I’ve Never Backed Down From a Fight”), Wolverine (“I Do What’s Gotta Be Done”), and Spider-Man (“I Take Responsibility for My Actions”).
