Konami Digital Entertainment has scheduled the 2010 United States World Championship Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Qualifier for July 9-11 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Video Game National Championship will also be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center at the same time.
The winner of the tournament will be crowned the “United States Champion” and will win the right to compete at the World Championships in Long Beach California in August. The top four finishers in the Trading Card Tournament and the top two winners in the Video Game Championship will receive free travel to and accommodations at the World Championship event.
The Minneapolis festivities will begin with a “last chance” qualifier tournament on July 9th, followed by the World Championship Qualifier Tournament on the 10th and 11th. Konami is also hosting side events (with prizes) at the tournament for new and younger players and for those who don’t qualify for the national tournament.
Sixteen player 2011 Regional Qualifier tournaments will also be held on Sunday, July 11th.
Entry is free for players who have qualified at an official KDE Regional Qualifier, Shonen Jump Championship, or Yu-Gi-Oh Championship Series Event.
