Vertical Inc, publisher of translated Japanese fiction and manga, announced at San Diego Comic-Con that it has acquired the rights to Usamaru Furuya’s Lychee Light Club manga.  The plot involves a group of teens who try to solve their love problems by creating a literal deus ex machina that runs on lychee fruit, but it soon develops a mind of its own.

It ran in Japan in Ohta Publishing’s Manga Erotica F magazine from 2005 to 2006.  The single American volume will run 320 black and white pages, has a SRP of $17.99, and is scheduled for release on April 20, 2011.

Vertical plans to announce one to three additional new manga licenses before the end of the year.
