Dan Wallace of Impulse Creations, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma has been following the recent discussions regarding DC Sales Reps and couldn't help but wonder how stores are selected for this special service.

As the president of Impulse Creations, Inc. I've been following the recent discussion of DC sales representatives.  I’ve seen the subject come up from time to time but had always assumed that DC only had such people for a very small number of retailers like the top 10-20 stores or just for chain stores.  But recent comments have led me to believe otherwise which now has me curious about how stores are chosen to receive calls from sales reps.

I don't know exactly where we rank but I do know that we're the largest Diamond account in the city by a significant margin.  I just don't know if that puts us in the top 100 stores or the top 1000 nationally.  Wherever we fall though, we have never been contacted by anyone from DC.  We used to hear from a Dark Horse rep but no other publisher has ever contacted us to discuss anything other than the non-exclusive publishers with whom we order product directly.

We're always looking for ways to work closely with publishers and manufacturers though to try to find new opportunities to sell product more effectively.  If DC or any other publishers are interested in doing so they're more than welcome to contact us any time and we'll value that input.
