Kotobukiya will release the third statue in its series of Danger Room Sessions Fine Art Figures in March of 2011.  This 14-inch superbly detailed figure of the feral mutant Sabretooth (aka Victor Creed) fairly bristles with animalistic rage. The ferocious predator, who is Wolverine’s top rival, is posed with his left hand balled into a hammer-like fist while his right hand is splayed open to display his deadly claws at the ready.

Sabretooth, whose checkered history includes many battles with the X-Men as well as some occasions when he has fought on the side of the forces for good, makes an excellent addition to the Danger Room Sessions series, which also includes (so far) figures of Wolverine and Psylocke.  Like the other figures in the Danger Room Sessions series, Sabretooth stands on an exclusive holographic Danger Room environment base with translucent parts that glow from an embedded LCD light.

The 1/6th scale sculpt of Sabretooth (MSRP $179.99) is based on Jim Lee’s X-Men designs from the 1990s.  Every detail of the mutant’s costume is authentic right down to the brown and yellow-striped bodysuit and his massive fur color, but it is his snarling expression that dares any member of the Danger Room team to take him on that makes this figure the perfect complement to previously released statues in the series.
