From Boston Globe

Marvel has obtained the first positive response to its efforts to begin PR for the new series The Truth longer in advance of release (see 'Marvel Gears Up PR Earlier for Black Cap') -- the Boston Globe ran a lengthy feature article today. This is a promising sign for the PR strategy that Marvel is pursuing with the avowed purpose of making it easier for retailers to gauge interest in the title in time to order the right number of copies to sell. But many additional hurdles have to be overcome for the strategy to be successful. First, other news outlets will have to join this first major metropolitan daily in covering the story early. Second, that coverage will have to prompt enough interest in the right direction to be visible to comic retailers. And third, the retailer will have to be able to make the connection between that heightened level of interest and the correct number of copies to order. The next few weeks will tell to what degree these three conditions will be achieved.
