Marvel Comics has announced the April debut of The Mighty Thor #1, the first issue in a new ongoing series featuring the God of Thunder written by Matt Fraction with pencils and a cover from superstar artist Olivier Coipel. In the initial story arc in this new series Thor must defend Asgard from none other than Galactus.

 

With the May release of the Thor movie from Marvel Studios, Marvel Comics is pulling out all the stops to kick off the new Mighty Thor series. In addition to Coipel’s cover design for issue #1, Marvel is also releasing variant covers by Travis Charest and Walt Simonson as well as a Thor Movie Variant Cover Edition.
