Mike Boze of HawgHead Comics in Fort Smith, Arkansas saw Bill Jemas' comments on oveprinting (see 'Marvel's Bill Jemas 'Tells the Truth about Over-Production'') in conjunction with Marvel's plan to tweak its no overprint policy (see 'Marvel Prints on Spec!'), and sent us this comment.
I would like to add my voice to the subject of a poll concerning Marvel's policy of 'no over print'. I would greatly appreciate any effort by ICv2 or Diamond to provide the retailers with such a poll. This way we could finally see just how accurate Jemas' claim that Marvel is not receiving any negative feedback.
On a similar subject, I just read that Marvel's 3rd quarter results look pretty good. Add to this the 60 Minutes II interview where Spider-Man has grossed about $1 billion and the next several moives should also gross somewhere near another $1 billion. Maybe Marvel can now afford to take a gamble on these 'HOT' books they seem determined to make the retailers gamble on.
