The full theatrical trailer for Cowboys & Aliens, which opens July 29th, emphasizes the genre mash-up nature of the high-concept , comic book-based movie with such familiar Western movie tropes as the saloon fight and the search posse juxtaposed against alien abductions and high-tech weaponry.
The trailer also puts the emphasis on the movie's A-list cast that includes Daniel Craig (James Bond) and Harrison Ford as well as on director Jon Favreau, who has scored major hits with two films based on Marvel's Iron Man. Cowboys & Aliens remains one of the summer's most interesting wild cards--no one is quite sure how well this original property will do, but this action-packed trailer provides some indication that Cowboys & Aliens could do well, particularly overseas.
