McFarlane Toys has announced that it will not be exhibiting at Toy Fair, the annual industry trade show held each February in New York.  According to the announcement, the company feels that the show has become a media and PR event rather than an occasion to meet with buyers, and that McFarlane can handle its media relationships better from its Phoenix, Arizona headquarters.

McFarlane is in the processing of consolidating all operations into one building in Phoenix, which will house the toy company, Todd McFarlane Entertainment (currently in Los Angeles), and a permanent showroom for media, buyers, and fans.  Since the lease was up on McFarlane's New York toy showroom, it decided to make this the year it withdraws from the show and focuses on its Arizona HQ.

Now if only we could get the rest of the show to move from New York to Phoenix, we could make a warm weather trip in February instead of a cold one!
