Comic-Con News--Today Marvel released two new character posters featuring the likenesses of the actors in Joss Whedon’s Avengers movie, which is set to debut in theaters on May 4th, 2012.  The one major member of the cast who is missing in action so far is Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, whose poster will likely be released on Sunday.  These striking interlocking poster designs were created by Marvel’s co-visual development supervisors Ryan Meinerding and Charlie Wen and they cleverly combine visual elements from the film with powerful images of the characters.  The first design released today features Chris Hemsworth as Thor.

 

The second poster unveiled on Saturday features the three most prominent S.H.I.E.L.D. characters in the film, Nick Fury, who is played by Samuel L.Jackson, Agent Coulson, who is portrayed by Clark Gregg, and Maria Hill, the character played by Cobie Smulders.  For a look at the other Avengers character posters for released at Comic-Con so far including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye, see “Marvel Reveals Avengers Character Posters.”
