Tim Morris of Comic Book Collector in London (Ontario), Canada comments on John Riley's recent column regarding publisher’s over reliance on "Big Events" (see "Sharpening the Sword--Crystal Meth").
I agree with John Riley 100%. There are too many "BIG" events occurring at both Marvel and DC at this time. Marvel is the worst with their multiple crossover events that as John said seem to have little to no lasting impacts on their universe as a whole. We saw similar declines in sales on titles after events were done. Dark Horse's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 sold better than 90% of Marvel books. Again this leads back to a strong book with a linear narrative that appears to have long lasting repercussions much like The Walking Dead. I'm excited and hopeful that DC is doing the right thing. Overall DC is the stronger company, in our store at least, it out sells almost every Marvel title. It would do well for Marvel to follow this path and fix their fractured continuity.
