The first copies of Habibi (see “Craig Thompson’s Habibi Due September 20th”), Craig Thompson’s follow-up to the hit graphic novel Blankets, will be seen at SPX, on the weekend of September 10th, as a benefit for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.  The book is scheduled to street on the 20th.  The benefit preview edition of 100 signed and numbered copies will be available to donors who contribute $100 or more to the Fund at SPX.  They’ll be sold on a first come, first serve basis beginning when the show opens. 

The #1 volume of the special edition will go as a special premium to the donor who bids the highest for a lunch with Thompson to take place at the show.  The auction, which ends on September 8th, is here.

Demon Circle, an exclusive novella by the authors of Crazy 8 Press, has been created as a donation premium for the Fund.  The novella was written live at ShoreLeave33 by Peter David, Michael Jan Friedman, Bob Greenberger, Glenn Hauman, Aaron Rosenberg, and Howard Weinstein.  This exclusive novella is available via Comic Mix here.
