An ICv2 Release. ICv2 has announced that it will take a one year hiatus in 2011 from its long-running tradition of holding the ICv2 Conference with New York Comic Con. “With the move to a Thursday afternoon start for New York Comic Con, our regular Thursday afternoon time slot at the Javits was no longer available,” ICv2 President Milton Griepp said. “And despite our best efforts and [NYCC organizer] Reed’s cooperation in trying to find an alternative time that worked, we were unable to do so this year.”
ICv2 plans to bring its Conference back to NYCC in 2012. “The first year of the new schedule for New York Comic Con presented some unique scheduling and venue challenges,” Griepp said. “But we’re already working with Reed on next year, and expect to come back bigger and better than ever in 2012.”
ReedPOP Vice President Lance Fensterman is also looking forward to a return of the Conference to NYCC in 2012. “The ICv2 Conference has been a valued partner of New York Comic Con over the years, and we look forward to resuming our long tradition of working together in 2012,” he said.
