Dark Horse Comics will launch Alabaster: Wolves, a five-issue comic series based on writer Caitlin R. Kiernan’s fan-favorite Dancy Flammarion stories, in April. The first Alabaster story will appear in Dark Horse Presents #9 in February. Kiernan, who has written over 200 short stores and novellas, and comics including the Sandman spinoff The Dreaming, will write the series, Steve Lieber will provide the art, and covers will be by Greg Ruth.
The Dancy Flammarion stories are dark fantasies about a seventeen-year-old girl who fights monsters, demons, and other dark things under the command of a seraph. The comics will be part continuation, part reimagining.
