The estate of famed comics writer Harvey Pekar, who passed away last year (see “Harvey Pekar—RIP”), has launched a Kickstarter project to produce a memorial statue to Pekar, and to celebrate comics as art and literature at the public library in Cleveland Heights, Ohio where Pekar liked to work.  Now Alan Moore has recorded a video to express his support for the project in which he describes his respect for Pekar’s work and appeals for support for the project (with a special bonus).  If the project goes over its $30,000 goal, additional funds will be used to add to the comics collection of the library, certainly a worthy cause in itself.
The Kickstarter Project is here.
