Director John Woo is launching an animated Web series tied to the graphic novel series Seven Brothers, originally published by Virgin (see "John Woo, Garth Ennis Collaborating"), and now published by Liquid Comics and Dynamite Entertainment. The series will consist of 13 episodes, with the first four released through Machinima, an online video network with its own channel on YouTube.
The animation episodes are around six minutes each.
The story, created by Woo, begins in 15th century China and then moves to modern-day Los Angeles, where seven men must battle the Son of Hell to save the world. Dynamite Entertainment will release an omnibus collection of the comics, John Woo’s Seven Brothers Omnibus, by Garth Ennis and Jeevan J. Kang, in January. The 280-page volume will retail for $24.99.
