Leonard Litteral of Nostalgia, Ink. in Jackson, Michigan comments on DC increasing the price and adding backup stories on Batman and Detective Comics (see "Scott Snyder's History of the 'Court of Owls'" and "DC Reveals 'Detective' Back-Up").
My name is Leonard Litteral and I am a 28 year-veteran comics retailer and 50 year comics fan. I do what I do because I love so much of the medium and the hobby. The fanboy in me loves the high caliber talent being used on these extra pages especially on the Bat books. The retailer in me loves the value. 50 percent more pages at only a dollar more, but the businessman side just sees more big business marketing trying to get more dollars from their dwindling reader and collector base. In a small brick and mortar shop in a small rust belt town I'm leery that it will work. Marvel's events and expansions of popular titles have hurt their sales in my store for years (although I love some of their recent creator choices).
Anyway good luck DC. And thanks ICv2, I love all your stuff and am happy to finally have made time to add my own input.
