IDW Publishing has announced the May release of the first issue in the first crossover event ever featuring Doctor Who and Star Trek.  The 8-issue Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation 2 series, which will feature fully painted artwork by J.K. Woodward (Fallen Angel), will be written by Scott and David Tipton with the aid of longtime Doctor Who writer Tony Lee.   Artist Joe Corroney will provide a variant cover, and IDW will also produce a rare wraparound photo cover.

 

The driving force behind this crossover event is an unholy alliance between the Borg and the Cybermen, which could spell disaster for humanity without the intervention of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, his Next Generation cohorts, and everyone’s favorite Timelord.
