Dynamite Entertainment is expanding its Vampirella line of comics with the June launch of a new series featuring the equally sexy Pantha, an ancient Egyptian who made her first appearance in Vampirella #30.
Not to be confused with the DC Comics “Pantha” created by Marv Wolfman in New Titans #73 in 1991 or Princess Pantha, who debuted in Thrilling Comics in 1946 (and was later revived by Alan Moore), the Pantha from the Vampirella universe was cursed by the Egyptian gods with immortal life. Much more than a feral shapeshifter, she is also the avatar of the Egyptian goddess Sekhmet.

In Pantha #1,which is written by Brandon Jerwa and illustrated by Pow Rodix, Pantha stalks the night, driving the forces of Chaos from the shadows and hunting them down like prey. The series will feature the return of several heroes and villains from the pages of Pantha and Vampirella comics. Dynamite’s new series not only adds another gorgeous protagonist to the publisher’s already well-stocked lineup of comely comic heroines, Pantha will become an integral part of the Dynamite’s expanding Vampirella universe.
Pantha #1 will debut in June with covers by Sean Chen and Mark Texiera.
