DC Comics today revealed seven variant covers for it Before Watchmen series, and the artists involved represent a wide range of the most talented pencilers working in comics today including Paul Pope, Steve Rude, Jim Lee, Tim Bradstreet, David Finch, Cliff Chiang, and grandmaster Jim Steranko.
 
Paul Pope's Cover for Dr. Manhattan #1
The controversial Before Watchmen series debuted with four titles in June (the first issues of Minutemen, Nite Owl, Comedian, and Silk Spectre) and all four books made the "Top 10" and each sold over 100,000 copies in one of the most successful launches of a line of related comic books in history (see "Eight Comics Over 100,000 in June").  The most recent release in the series, Before Watchmen: Minutemen #2 debuted in stores yesterday.
