This week Cold Cut Distribution mailed its Channel X Advance Order Catalog offering retailers almost twenty new comic books, graphic novels, and a DVD, all of which are set for release in April -- and none of which are available through other distributors.  The cutting-edge and alternative titles in the Channel X catalog include works by Ignatz Award Winners Joel Priddy and Rachel Hartman, Xeric Grant winners Songgu Kwon and Gerald Jablonski, Day Prize Winner Tom Williams, as well as Ted McKeever, and Cole Johnson.  Cold Cut founder Tim Stroup assured ICv2 that Channel X was not the beginning of a monthly advance order system, rather it was an attempt to provide distribution for a specific group of comics targeted at the college-age-and-older demographic.  Stroup didn't rule out doing another Channel X catalog, but he noted, 'that decision will be based on how this one does, and when there are enough books available to make it worthwhile.'

Orders for this first Channel X catalog are due to Cold Cut by March 14, and will arrive at retail on April 14 and April 28.  Most of the items in the catalog are available to retailers at a 50% discount.  Cold Cut has mailed out about 600 copies of Channel X and copies are available to retailers on request.
